Açaí - Nutritional information

The açaí nutritional profile compares favourably to many other nutritional fruits including pomegranate, blueberries, raspberries and oranges. Açaí contains more fibre, calcium, iron, vitamin A, vitamin E, Omega fatty acids and antioxidants than all four. According to USDA, recommended daily ORAC consumption is approximately 3000-5000 units. This represents just 30-50g of a~aí pulp.
There is a difference between the açaí from the Lower Amazon (E.oleracea) and the açaí from the Upper Amazon (E.precatoria).
